Barcelona youngster on loan at La Liga club wanted by several second-division teams

A report from SPORT has emerged that Barcelona midfielder Pablo Torre is attracting interest from several Spanish second division teams, including Racing, Real Valladolid and Real Zaragoza in light of his struggles at Girona.

Torre’s loan stint with Girona has not proven beneficial thus far. It must be remembered that during the summer transfer market, Barcelona gave Torre an option to choose the team of his choice as they wanted him to go on loan to get regular minutes. 

The 20-year-old opted to go to Girona, hoping for a more substantial role, but that hasn’t materialized.

Barcelona plan to end his Girona loan early

Having spent the previous season at Barcelona without playing, Torre’s situation called for a new destination that facilitated his growth. At the moment, though, he has seen just 133 minutes of action at Girona, forcing Barcelona to look for other avenues.

Now, Barcelona recognize the necessity of getting the prominence he requires and the club is prioritizing sporting considerations over financial aspects and is willing to cover a significant portion of his salary if the other team ensures regular playing time.

Moving to the second division might seem like a step back, but it is important for him to gain minutes and return to Barcelona at the end of the season.

Many teams interested

As such, several second division teams have expressed interest, including Racing and Valladolid, with Zaragoza being another potential option.

Ultimately, the decision lies with Torre himself. While he has the option to continue with Girona, it may be more beneficial for his career to explore opportunities where he can actively contribute on the field rather than remaining on the bench.

If he agrees to switch teams midway through the season, he would spend six months on loan at a different club and then return to Barcelona in the summer.
