OnePlus 12 Design and Colour Options Revealed Ahead Of December 5 Launch

OnePlus enthusiasts are eagerly counting down the days until December 5, the scheduled date for the grand unveiling of the much-anticipated OnePlus 12 in China. While OnePlus has been skillfully building anticipation for its latest flagship – much like its previous launches – the company has now unveiled the design of its forthcoming smartphone. The colour options of the OnePlus 12 were already roaming on the internet via Oppo Mall listing. Let’s take a closer look at the OnePlus 12.

OnePlus 12 Design

The OnePlus 12 is set to introduce a noteworthy design modification, relocating the Alert Slider to the left-hand side of the phone. This move opens the door to integrating a new antenna system dedicated to elevating the gaming experience. The decision to shift the Alert Slider stems from the company’s internal testing, pinpointing the optimal placement for gaming antennas between the user’s forefingers in landscape orientation.

On the OnePlus 11, the Alert Slider currently occupies this crucial gaming antenna space, prompting OnePlus to rethink its placement. The company’s solution involves not just a change in position but also the introduction of Ultra-compact Full-band Antenna technology and an industry-first Alert Slider Antenna Integration technology. These innovations aim to minimise the space allocated to the Alert Slider, ensuring a delicate balance between superior antenna signal strength and the presence of the iconic Slider on the OnePlus 12.

The internal testing conducted by OnePlus reveals promising results. The relocation of the Alert Slider, coupled with cutting-edge antenna technologies, improves gaming antenna signal strength by an impressive 3dB. Additionally, there is a notable 15% reduction in-game latency, promising a smoother and more responsive gaming experience for users.

Furthermore, the rear design echoes the OnePlus 11’s aesthetic with a distinctive round camera module housing multiple lenses and the unmistakable ‘H’ logo, symbolizing the Hasselblad partnership. The LED flash unit is positioned, completing the visual harmony of the back panel. The colour options include Classic Black, Pristine White, and Vibrant Green.

OnePlus 12 Specifications (Expected)

Rumours and leaks have woven an intriguing tapestry of specifications for the OnePlus 12, adding to the excitement of its launch. According to reliable sources, the device is anticipated to feature a large 6.82-inch BOE X1 OLED display, boasting a 2K resolution, a brisk 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

Operating on the foundation of ColorOS 14-based Android 14, the global variant, projected for a January 2024 release, is also expected to run on OxygenOS 14-based Android 14. On the photographic front, the OnePlus 12 is speculated to sport a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a sophisticated rear camera setup. This configuration includes an OIS-enabled LYT-808 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel IMX581 ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera equipped with 3x optical zoom.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Fueling the device is a robust 5,400mAh battery, complemented by a swift 100W wired charging capability and efficient 50W wireless charging support.
